Cupping
What is Cupping ?
Cupping is an ancient technique. It consists of applying suction cups to large muscles. The suction is usually achieved via heating the inside of a cup and then applying it to the skin or creating a vacuum with a pump after the cup is placed on the skin. The negative pressure generated inside the cup draws in the skin and thus dilates the fine blood vessels.
This mechanism improves the blood circulation, but also small capillaries are broken, creating the common circular bruises. These bruises disappear in a few days and are not painful. The net effect of these events improves the circulation of blood and lymph, which also allows muscles to relax. This procedure also regulates the immune system and detoxifies. The feeling during and after cupping is relaxation and well-being.
